This Exhaust Nut is the genuine BMW stock replacement for all 1970-'76 models (/5, /6, and R90S). It's recognizable by it's taller cooling fins. When removing original exhaust nuts, it is not uncommon that the threads or the fins (or both) become damaged. Particularly in the case of thread damage, never re-install! We strongly recommend using a new part to replace a damaged one. And ALWAYS apply anti-seize lubricant on the threads when installing!
