Ducati Lithium Battery Charger Battery charger specially developed for 12.8 V lithium iron phosphate batteries (LIFEPO4), not suitable for NICD, NIMH, other types of LI-ION or non-rechargeable batteries. The device, made by industry leader tecMATE to an exclusive Ducati design, is conceived to extend the life of batteries, retaining their charge level during periods of low motorbike use. The operation of the maintainer is based on a fully automatic algorithm, controlled by a microprocessor. This reduces the voltage to the maintenance level once the maximum charge is reached and returns to charging mode should the electronic components applied to the bike cause the battery voltage to fall below the optimum level. Developed with the approval of Ducati R&D, the maintainer is supplied with 3 sets of connections, allowing connection to the battery via the Ducati diagnostic connector (Euro4 / Euro5), via a cable with metal eyelets and folding cap on the weatherproof connector for permanent connection to the battery poles. An additional connection cable with an alligator clip is available as an option, to connect the charger to the battery if the latter is removed from the vehicle. Moreover, for new models, the device can be connected directly to the DDA (Ducati Data Acquisition) socket. Ducati riders should not be without this device, which protects their motorbike battery while they await the upcoming two-wheeler season. Not suitable for non-rechargeable NICD, NIMH, LI-ION batteries.
